Terms of service
Last updated 15 Oct 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and CLYRO when you use CLYRO to find, book or provide local services. Part 4 is for customers and part 5 is for providers. Read them with our privacy notice and our refund and cancellation policy, which form part of them.
1. About CLYRO
CLYRO is an online marketplace for local services, based in Birmingham, United Kingdom. Customers post jobs, independent local providers quote for them, and the customer chooses who does the work.
The provider you choose is the business you are buying from. When you pay through CLYRO, the payment is made to them, in their own Stripe account, and their name is on your card statement, with “CLYRO” at the end. CLYRO runs the marketplace, takes payments on the provider's behalf, and steps in when something goes wrong, as these terms say.
2. Your account
You need an account to post a job or to quote. Give us accurate details and keep them up to date, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. One account is for one person or one business.
We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts others at risk, or that we reasonably believe is being used for fraud. We tell you why, unless the law or a fraud investigation stops us.
3. Using CLYRO
Be honest and respectful in everything you post and send through CLYRO: jobs, quotes, messages, photos and reviews. Don't post anything unlawful, misleading or that isn't yours to share. Reviews must be about a real job you were part of.
You can report a provider, raise a complaint, or stop a job that is going wrong from the job page. An admin looks at each one.
4. For customers
Posting a job is free. Your photos are read by an AI service to suggest the job's details; you can change anything it suggests. See our privacy notice.
Quotes. A provider quotes a fixed price, an estimate, a “from” price or a site visit. A fixed price is what you pay. For the others, the provider sends a final price once they know the job, and you approve it, ask for a revision, or turn it down. Extra work found during the job is a separate request with its own price, which you approve and pay for before it is done.
Paying. When a job is paid through CLYRO, you pay by card on Stripe's secure page. CLYRO never sees your card details. You can pay up to £10,000 for one job. When you pay, you ask for the work to start within the 14-day cancellation period, in these words: “I want the work to start within the 14-day cancellation period. I understand that if I cancel after work has started, I may have to pay for work already done.”
Until the work is done, your payment waits in the provider's Stripe account. It is paid out to them when you confirm the work is done, or 7 days after they mark it done if you don't answer. If something isn't right, tell us from the job page before then.
5. For providers
Who can quote. Providers are checked before they get work: your identity, and the other checks your trade needs, such as insurance. You must keep them current. You run your own business and are responsible for the work, your prices, your tax and your insurance.
Getting paid. Customers pay through CLYRO into your own Stripe account. You set up payouts with Stripe, which checks your identity and takes your bank details. Payment processing for providers on CLYRO is provided by Stripe and is subject to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which includes the Stripe Services Agreement. By setting up payouts you agree to it, and to CLYRO sharing information about you, your business and your payments with Stripe so that it can provide them.
When you are paid. A customer's payment waits in your Stripe balance until they confirm the work is done, or 7 days after you mark it done if they don't answer. Then it is paid out to your bank. Your payout schedule is kept on manual for this.
CLYRO's commission is taken from each payment through CLYRO, at a rate fixed when the customer pays: First 5 jobs: 0% · Next 10: 5% · After that: 12%. Your first 5 jobs paid through CLYRO cost you nothing (0%).
Refunds and chargebacks. A refund decided under our refund and cancellation policy comes out of your share; CLYRO returns its commission on the refunded part. If a customer's bank reverses a payment (a chargeback), CLYRO decides who bears it and tells you why. If it was your fault, your share is taken back from your Stripe balance, or recovered from your bank account if it has already been paid out. Every change to what you are owed is emailed to you and listed on your Payouts page.
Holds. CLYRO can hold your payments and payouts while something is looked into. We tell you, and money owed to customers is still refunded.
6. Cancellations and refunds
How cancellations, refunds and problems with a job are handled is set out in our refund and cancellation policy.
7. Changes to these terms
